At their June 2004 meeting, the Board of Directors of our club authorized the formation of the CLC Youth Program. As of August 2005, we have 53 members and counting!
This program is open to anyone ages 6 to 15 who is a child or grandchild of an active CLC member. Each member will receive a quarterly newsletter, a T-shirt, and a membership card for only $5 per year.
At every Grand National, Youth Program members will be able to attend driving and mechanical seminars, take rides in some of the cars, and possibly serve on a special Youth Program judging team.
Throughout the year, Youth Program members can win awards for a variety of activities, from expressing their artistic talents to completing driving training.
The bi-monthly newsletter, The Running Board Review, will have an editorial column as well as technical articles. Columns will be dedicated to great figures and cars from Cadillac's past. There will be lots of pictures and page of puzzles and games.
The success of this program and similar programs instituted by other clubs is vital to the future of our hobby. The child you sign up may be the one that ensures your pride and joy is still being enjoyed as we approach the 22nd century.
If you think your child or grandchild would enjoy learning about the greatest cars ever made and having fun with like-minded children, fill out a membership form today!
If you have further questions about the Youth Program, please send an email to Youth Program Committee Chairman Gerald Terranova.
